Abstract :
In this paper the model of single cathode spot of small current vacuum arc is presented based on the physical processes on the cathode spot, which make the energy on the cathode spot change by inputting or taking energy from the cathode spot. From the model, the micro parameters to describe a cathode spot, which are radius, temperature, and the ratio of electronic current over the total current can be calculated numerically for the given arc current. It is found that the parameters of the cathode spot are influenced by the arc current and the contact material
