Abstract :
Pre-installed appliances have been considered a necessity for perimeter defense operations within SOA security infrastructure. Preventive appliances are promising with optimized performance and lower operation costs. This research proposes a goal based workload and analytic model for performance load and utilization predictions. The suggested model and algorithmic operations are further augmented through the exploitation of the latest computing techniques such as visualization, resource partitioning, parallelism and locality. The model and algorithms are verified by a prototype appliance with a load generator simulating typical real world workloads. To prove this research, an empirical test-bed is deliberated.
