Abstract
Achieving EMC within the built environment should be viewed as having two elements, a technical element that is comprised of modelling and measurement, and a management plan element that packages the technical elements with management rules (risk analysis, relevant declarations of conformity, responsible person, etc). The application of a structured planning approach helps to ensure that a high operational state is achievable whilst controlling the costs of implementing EMC best practices during the design and construction stages. This presentation will cover the elements required to achieve effective EMC management planning for commercial buildings operating in complex electromagnetic environments as well as being able to demonstrate compliance with the EMC Directive.
