Abstract :
This paper provides an Introduction to Railway Communication Systems. The context for this paper is based on the current London Underground structure and operating environment. Generic principles, operational and system requirements are covered. A discussion of some of the problems associated with design, installation, system integration, maintenance and operation of communication systems is provided.
