Abstract :
A memristor is a two-terminal element whose resistance depends on the magnitude, direction, and duration of the applied voltage. A memristor remembers its most recent memristance when voltage was turned off until the next time the voltage is turned on, and it can provide dynamical-negative resistance. These promising characteristics may potentially revolutionize nanoelectronics. It can find applications in analog and digital circuits, which are part of everyday use systems such as sensors and mobile phones. This article discusses different aspects of the memristor including basic characteristics, models, fabrications, and circuit designs to provide a complete picture of this state-of-the art technology.
