Title :
The Development of a Transformer Paralleling Guide for the IEEE Transformer Committee
Author_Institution :
Life Senior Member, IEEE
Abstract :
This paper introduces a draft of a "Transformer Paralleling Guide" being considered for the Power Transformers Subcommittee of the IEEE Transformer Committee. The need for this document was initiated in the WG for revising C57.12.10 and referred to the subcommittee at the \´06 meeting. This paper will preview many of the attributes of the "Transformer Paralleling Guide". These preliminary previews will be in different stages of development and will include such items as choosing the correct paralleling method and the importance of understanding the system applications. Frequently observed commissioning errors as well as methods of presenting the guide material in an understandable and usable manner will also be outlined. This paper will be very useful in developing increased guide interest and will result in the inclusion of more complete information in the guide, increasing its value to the power industry.
