Abstract
The contribution to the panel session will describe why ancillary services are needed. Definition and categorization of ancillary services will be given. Different procurement procedures for ancillary services will be explained. Examples will be given from use of ancillary services. Some thoughts on future development of ancillary services will wind up the presentation.
