Abstract :
In this paper, the transmission spectra of one-dimensional magnetophotonic crystal embedded into the hollow rectangular waveguide is studied as a function of the external magnetic field. The transmission spectrum does not demonstrate any principal changes, except the frequency displacement, while embedding the magnetophotonic periodical structure in the waveguide. Thus it is reasonable apply the simple "transversely unrestricted" model for the simulation of primary frequency-selective properties the for 1D magnetophotonic waveguide crystals at least for millimeter waveband. Not difficult to see that the simple technique demonstrated here, can be applied as well to another frequency bands, particularly to THz band, which excites strong interest today. In such a case, to replace the ferrite on the other magnet is only needed, which demonstrates less permeability dispersion at higher frequencies, or at least demonstrates another behavior of the imaginary part of the permeability. The promising magnets for this goal seem to be a various complex magnetic nanostructures, which can satisfy the above mentioned requirement.
