Abstract :
Blind (automatic) techniques for determination of noise characteristics of Ka- and X-band SLAR images obtained from the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of UNAS and A.I. Kalmukov Center of Earth Radiophysical Sensing. New modification on a filter based on a discrete cosine transform applied in sliding blocks is described. Filter efficiency is considerably improved by taking into account noise type and statistical characteristics.
