  • Abstract
Civil structures damage detection is well-known application of the microwave imaging techniques. The main peculiarity of such applications is that objects to be found and investigated are situated in concrete. In our previous work we have reported experimental microwave imaging results when objects were placed in air. Despite these results offer only theoretical interest, they experimentally prove applicability of models and approaches involved in image reconstruction algorithm. Recently we have improved our experimental imaging setup by introducing Agilent HP 8722ET network analyzer. Setup upgrade allowed imaging experiments of objects situated in concrete to be carried out. This paper describes peculiarities we have encountered during these experiments.
