Abstract
We describe different coupling phenomena in PhC structures based on linear and/or point defects and we discuss some applications for all-optical signal processing. Several micro-scale devices are presented, such as highly wavelength-selective waveguides, slow-light devices, multiplexers and flat-top filters, whose performances have been enhanced by optimizing the corresponding coupling
