Abstract :
A fast algorithm for MPEG compressed video segmentation based on macroblock (MB) is presented in this paper. The proposed method can detect the scene change boundaries accurately through the macroblock information of B-frame and P-frame which can be extracted from the encoded bit-stream directly without total decompression for MPEG bit-stream, so the detecting speed is quick. Simulation results in different sequences show that the proposed algorithm is effective and accurate for detecting scene change boundaries in MPEG video.
