Abstract :
In order to improve operation performance of underwater vehicle counter-rotation propeller propulsion system, a new type of PMSM with opposite-rotation dual rotors (ODR) has been proposed. The principle of operation and magneto- electric models are discussed. The magnetic field generated by both rotors magnets is analyzed by MagNet software. The results prove that PMSM with ODR designed can produce same opposite-direction torque at two rotors, so it can directly drive two counter-rotation propellers, which can improve the performance of propulsion system.
