Abstract :
A novel electric drive system with permanent magnet brushless dc motor (PMBDCM) fed by PWM Z-source inverter is proposed and analyzed in this paper. This drive system provides advantages of both the PMBDCM and Z-source inverter, and can be used in fuel cell system and other adjustable speed drive application. The system configuration, operation principle and control method are presented in detail. And based on the equivalent circuits, the mathematic model of the drive system is established by state-space averaging method. Simulation results validate the desired features as well as the feasibility of the proposed drive system.
