Abstract
This paper proposes the bandwidth criterion and Gabor decomposition algorithm for bidimensional empirical mode decomposition (BEMD). The Fourier spectrum of the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) obtained by bandwidth BEMD have some center frequencies. Based on this feature, Gabor filter banks are designed to decompose IMFs into components which have reasonable instantaneous frequency. The performance of the proposed texture analysis algorithms is demonstrated with both synthetic and natural images.
