Abstract :
A technique is presented for the design of three-layer reflectarrays for contoured beam antennas operating in two frequency bands. The technique has been applied to design a 1-m reflectarray for a South American coverage in Tx/Rx frequency bands. The technique is based on the optimisation of the patch dimensions in three layers of varying-sized patches in order to fulfil the requirements of the coverage in both Tx and Rx bands for dual linear polarisation. The results show that the gain requirements are fairly well accomplished in the whole coverage for both Tx and Rx bands. The cross-polar discrimination is better than 30 dB in most part of the coverage.
