Abstract :
Compact planar microwave antennas are highly desirable for a large number of applications. This paper presents three high-gain planar sub-wavelength resonant cavity antennas, designed to operated at 3.7 GHz. The primary difference between these designs is the cavity height. In each case the cavity height was significantly less then half-a-wavelength. The paper investigates the implications of reducing the antenna´s profile along the vertical and lateral directions.
