Abstract :
In this paper, an internal chip type antenna for penta-band (GSM850, GSM900, GSP, KPCS, USPCS) mobile handset is presented. The size of the proposed antenna is 20 times 3.2 times 8.2 mm3 to be easily installed to mobile handset. This chip type antenna is designed on FR-4(epsivr=4.4) by using PCB technology. The proposed antenna consists of the branch structure adding two different resonant structures and the tuning pattern. By adjusting three structures, this antenna has multi-wide band. The measured impedance bandwidth(under VSWR 3:1) on the ground having same size of mobile phone of general bar type or slide type is 160 MHz(880-1040 MHz), 90 MHz(1550-1640 MHz), and 330 MHz(1790- 2120 MHz).
