Abstract :
This work presents a novel directive Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antenna. The antenna shows an average gain of 7 dB over the band of interest (i.e., 4-10 GHz) with a return loss better than -10 dB. A broadband balun is also included in the realization. The antenna transfer function has been measured and the effect on pulse transmission has been evaluated showing good performances. The theoretical analysis leading to the novel realization is also reported.
