Abstract :
Analysis of structures with varying spatial discretization to capture geometric subtleties poses challenges that are two-fold: (i) choosing proper representation so as to capture the physics of the problem and (ii) overcoming the computational bottleneck posed by such constraints. This problem not necessarily new, and solutions to the problem exist. Our approach, however, will be slightly different in that we will construct the appropriate basis function space using the generalized method of moments and augment this code with an acceleration kernel. Results that demonstrate the efficacy of this approach will be presented at the conference.
