Abstract :
This paper investigated the frequency dependence of spatio- temporal ultra wideband (UWB) radio channels. First full- band channel modelling utilizing 3.1 to 10.6 GHz as well as sub-band analyses were outlined. Comparison of the results from full- and sub-band channel modelling based on measured data revealed that full-band analyses characterized lower frequencies well, while modelling capability of higher frequencies were poor. The sub-band analyses were then used to probe frequency dependence of propagation paths and diffuse components. Results revealed that propagation mechanisms in higher bands had less power composition of specular propagation paths than in lower bands.
