Abstract :
Several results obtained by simulations and measurements using low cost metamaterial dielectric grids, constructed using commercial CPVC pipes are presented in detail. The potential offered by this approach can find low cost applications in radiated field control, EMC and microwave devices. In particular this work presents a way of applying very simple metamaterials grids actuating like a RF filter, where, by the variation of the angle and distance between the grids taking as reference the incident field propagation direction, it is possible to obtain frequency bandgaps, passband frequency ranges and move the start and stop frequency of these two kinds of frequency band effects.
