Abstract
Modelling of radio signals at millimetre wave frequencies in vegetation media subject to the influence of wind may be a challenging problem. More so, modelling of radio signals as a function of the receiver bi-scattering angle with reference to the vegetation volume may represent a rather complex task, due to the large number of model input parameters which are required. This paper proposes a channel model of vegetation dynamics, based on a simplified set of parameters, representative of the radio signal in the forward scattering region of a vegetation volume at 40 GHz. As a result, a novel Markov modelling methodology is presented in order to model effectively radio signals which are highly time variant, such as a received radio signal in a dynamic environment. Model assessment is presented for relatively high wind speeds. The proposed model is a valuable simulating tool for obtaining channel dynamic data for vegetation scenarios covering a receiver scattering angle range, obviating the need to perform expensive measurements.
