Abstract :
As the fear to radiofrequency emissions grows among people, new proposals to reduce the incidence of such pollution in population segments as children and elders appear. This contribution is focused in the use of tree lines to reduce this kind of pollution in sensitive areas. An exhaustive measurement campaign has been performed in mobile phone frequency bands, and the results are presented, considering five different barrier configurations, in both vertical and horizontal polarizations, and four vegetal species. The validity of using vegetal barriers to reduce the electromagnetic pollution in sensitive areas is demonstrated.
