Abstract :
A compact reverberation chamber is considered for fast TRP (Total Radiated Power) measurements of 2G and 3G mobile phones. The mechanical mode-stirring sequence is optimized for fast multi-channel measurements. The accuracy of the reverberation chamber test system is evaluated through comparisons with both numerical simulation results and measurements using an anechoic chamber antenna test facility. The relation between the total absorbed power and the SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) is numerically investigated and a minimum absorption mass is derived. The latter is then exploited to deduce a worst-case SAR estimate from the TRP measurements with and without the phantom.
