Abstract :
In this paper we propose a multi-channel simulator that produces a realistic time-series of the fading process affecting signal transmission in satellite systems. The proposed simulator takes into account the temporal, spatial and polarization properties affecting these processes. In addition, we determine the impact on the total capacity of an application that utilizes the spatial-polarization channels for high data rate transmission system using multiple satellites. A significant drop in performance can be seen in the system as the cross polar discrimination decreases.
