Abstract :
We present and validate a new 3D mesh generator for the locally conformal FDTD Dey-Mittra algorithm. Our implementation requires a simple polygon description for arbitrary 3D PEC geometries and has been programmed in both uniform and non-uniform sampling. It is applicable to finite thickness and infinitesimally thin surfaces and is capable of dealing with very large and complex structures in both scattering and resonating models. Fine detail at sub-cell level can be extracted from a given polygon model and this can improve the Faraday contour integration near PEC surfaces, which is demonstrated here for a 3 digit interdigital filter.
