Abstract :
Multi-beam antennas can be used for the sectorization of 360deg azimuthal coverage. One of the suitable realizations, where four monopole antennas are placed at the corners of a square, is known as the "monopole four-square array antenna". This paper presents the optimization problem for this array antenna using the method of genetic algorithms. The simulation results for radiation patterns, demonstrate the possible performance improvement if geometry and electrical parameters of array and feed network can be optimized.
