Abstract :
In this paper we propose a novel miniaturized CPW-fed antenna for ultra-wideband applications. It can be useful for on-body applications because of its small size. Unlike conventional CPW-fed antenna, this antenna employs two diverging tapered slots. The required impedance bandwidth of 3.1-10.6 GHz is achieved with VSWR < 2 dB. The antenna does not show any strong resonance within the band and hence exhibit less group delay variation which is very important to preserve the pulse shape. Radiation pattern looks quasi-omnidirectional with the maximum gain limited to around 4 dBi.
