Abstract :
A broadband microstrip E-shape patch antenna stacked with rectangular patch of different size on a separate layer is presented. The antenna is simulated and the results of the performance are investigated. The antenna input impedance bandwidth is 44.6% (3.1-4.88 GHz) without washer which is better than the square patch stacked E-shape patch antenna. The dimension of rectangular patch as well as the shift of coaxial probe location has been optimized to achieve this wide bandwidth for UWB lower band applications.
