Abstract :
This paper shows the necessity to enhance and renew the data format RIO. Considerations are shown, which were made to develop the new relay data model RIOplus. The data model can be used as an XML-structure or as a DLL for other applications. Furthermore an import and export of IEC61850 data is possible. Some examples of realized modelled relays show the versatility of the new data model.
