Abstract
Since introducing on-line fault location equipment, Scottish Power have significantly reduced both the time and costs previously associated with locating repetitive intermittent faults on their low voltage underground cable network. In addition, the equipment has proved to be valuable in locating transitory faults, which do not result in interruptions to supply, but which are frequently the cause of Power Quality complaints.
