Abstract :
The electrical power system is relating the national economy life. Guaranteed the power equipment security, is the profitable target which the electric power studies since long ago. Many serious accidents are due to relay malfunction caused or inactive, so people realize that the importance of backup protection. In this paper, power system protection WAN study introduces a back-up protection expert system (BPES), the circuit can be calculated using the AF value computation and the analysis, to determine fault circuit, and then sends out tripping signal according to the relay operation, forms the wide-area backup protection.
