Abstract
This paper presents a new approach for designing a Fuzzy Logic Power System Stabilizer (FLPSS) such that it improves both transient and dynamic stabilities. An approach for optimizing the normalization and de-normalization factors of FLPSS using Genetic and Evolutionary Algorithm has been presented. Studies have been carried out considering FLPSS based on 3,5 and 7 MFs of Gaussian shape. Investigations reveal that the performance of the proposed FLPSS is quite robust to wide variations in loading condition both for small and large perturbations.
