Abstract :
This paper proposes a simulation method to simulate the system stability when a wind farm is connected to Shanxi power grid. This method combines Matlab with power system analysis software package (PSASP) developed by China Electrical Power Research Institute (CEPRI). The simulation of a grid-connected wind farm is performed using Matlab, and output characteristics of double fed induction generator (DFIG) have been obtained. Shuozhou Power Grid (SPG) is an area network of Shanxi grid in China, and its output characteristics of wind farm, obtained from Matlab, are inputted into PSASP as a load disturbance. Then the transient stability analysis for three cases is finished in this paper by using PSASP. The results show that this method is effective and convenient for practical application.
