Abstract
We have designed a nanometer Thz probe based on a Planar Goubau Line (PGL). We show that the propagation keeps low losses and remains quasi-TEM. We have tested a wire with a size down to 100 nm excited by a classical Coplanar Waveguide (CPW). This probe is integrated in a Biological MicroElectroMechanical System (BioMEMS) for characterizing the molecular information transfer between the microfluidic environment and the membrane of a single cell.
