            Abstract : 
In this work, we analyze the EDFA model based on BDI processes. We determine the EDFA parameters using Gaussian approximation. In addition, we calculate the error probability in different approximations and compare these results with theoretical and experimental results. Also, we present the analytical method to calculate signal-to- noise ratio. The BDI processes are used to model EDFA for different applications used in optical networks.
