Abstract :
The paper describes the continuing link between Bristol University and teaching hospitals with those in Mbarara. Uganda. Both the successes and disappointments i challenges are reviewed. Enthusiasm and knowledge can be a good starting point but smart administration and fund-raising are also needed to create a successful link. Higher education for engineers in bioengineering in Uganda is the aim but first the infra-structure must be developed.
