Abstract
Nonlinear (NL) properties of antimony glasses (AG) were characterized for wavelengths in the infrared. NL refractive index n2ap10-13-10-15 cm2/W of electronic origin, and small two-photon absorption coefficients, alpha2, were determined. The figure-of-merit for all-optical switching, T=2alpha2lambda/n2, indicates that AG are good materials for photonic devices at telecom wavelengths.
