E-framework for virtual collaborative community

Grid technology can be adopted to build a framework for education and research. The framework encourages the multidisciplinary collaboration between scientists and engineers in Thailand. Data exchanges and research coordination among government, academic and industrial institutes can be conducted through an existing high performance network of the Thaigrid infrastructure. In this paper, we present a design framework and implementation details of a collaboration environment, called the virtual research center (VRC). The framework was built based on the grid technology. VRC will benefit research and development coordination in Thailand.
