Abstract :
A high-gain down-sampling mixer in 65nm digital CMOS technology is presented. The mixer was fabricated in a triple-well CMOS process and is based on a modified Gilbert-type structure with current injection to increase the gain and improve the noise performance. Additionally the DC-input range of the RF-stage was widened by exploiting the body effect of the current injection transistors. The current injection lowers the flicker noise corner frequency to 200kHz while having a noise figure of 12dB. A high gain of +24dB at 1GHz RF-frequency was achieved.
