Abstract :
Blind Source Separation has been widely applied to the extraction of the trans-abdominal Fetal Electrocardiogram (fECG). The interpretation and validation of single or multiple independent fECG components, with apparent gestational variation, challenges the clinical and scientific community. This paper introduces real clinical and experimental data with accompanying analysis to highlight the challenges remaining in this field.
