Abstract
Call admission control policy (CACP) plays an important role in Hierarchical cell structure. It presented a new method of choosing suitable CACP in different application environment from the CACP based on microcell and CACP based on macrocell. The method used a new parameter by combining call duration time, maximum call speed and microcell radius into one. The new parameter can affects the handoff frequency and dropping rate, then determine which CACP is suitbale. Simulation results shows that there is a threshold of the parameter, if the parameter equals to it, performance of the two CACPs is same; if the parameter is smaller than it, microcell based one is better; otherwise the macrocell based one is better.
