Abstract :
P2P are the most popular resource sharing systems in Internet environment. The designing of P2P overlay network topology and application systems is the current study focus. With the advantages of scalability and reliability, P2P architecture is suited for applications which have a mass of participants and is used by more and more domain applications. By exploring features of mobile devices and characteristics of mobile users, in this paper we proposed a novel P2P system - NUMP2P, which is developed for mobile resource consumers. With a hybrid P2P architecture, overlay network of NUMP2P spans Internet and mobile wireless network, which has a two-level architecture. The structured DHT-based P2P level resolves the resource location and contributes the scalability. Edge-peers in NUMP2P, which reside at the margin P2P level, are divided into two unequal categories by their different role and function. In addition, in order to reduce the mobile device online time, agent and cache techniques are integrated into NUMP2P. The simulation examination results show that NUMP2P enables flexible and seamless communications for mobile devices in P2P networks.
