Abstract
The spectral effect called the signature and observed in CO2 laser output power changes during its retuning was used as a standard for calibration of the tracing system of the laser histogram - the signature sequence. The servomechanism consists of a micrometer screw turned by a stepping motor and of a voltage-controlled piezoceramic shifter. Shifts done with the micrometer screw are burdened with a high random error and need correction. To determine the optimum correction and to create a knowledge base concerning the device, standard identification procedures and methods of the evolutional algorithm scope were applied.
