Abstract :
Many smart environments are heterogeneous in devices, communication technologies and mobility. In these environments, messages are generated, processed and consumed by different devices often in parallel without knowledge of each other. To control and optimize this flow of messages from generation through processing to consumption is often neglected in smart environments research. We outline a system architecture to provide publish/process/subscribe of messages in smart environments. Afterwards we discuss different approaches to implement an algorithm for message dissemination in such a system and conclude ideas for further research.
