Abstract
This paper describes optimization methods applied in tuning of microwave filter assumed as ldquoblack-boxrdquo device. In this case any type of modeling is not required. Based on measured S-parameter data, without time consuming sensitivity analysis, only direct search and heuristics methods based on artificial intelligence can be used. Proper combination of such methods can be successfully applied in automated filter tuning.
