Abstract :
This paper compares the electromagnetic interactions between the user and laptop antennas for various ISM 2.4 GHz antenna types: sleeve dipole, Inverted-F, simple patch and novel microstrip wrapped elements. The freestanding and in-situ performance of each radiator is evaluated in terms of reflection coefficient, far field gain pattern and radiation efficiency. The human exposition to EM radiation is analyzed in terms of specific absorption rate (SAR).
