    The composite horizontal tail-plane used in the Use Case #1 test program is an actual aircraft structure from an F/A-18, obtained courtesy of the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Australia (fig. 1). It comprises an aluminium honeycomb core with carbon/epoxy composite skins.
