Abstract :
To assure collision-free movement of an avatar in a collaborative virtual environment (CVE), a collision management scheme must be present to prevent avatars from trespassing on the LocalSpace of obstacles and other avatars. Furthermore, this scheme must provide tools for collision-free linear, as well as, curvilinear motion. This paper seeks to extend the linear concept of horizontal collision detection for Avatar with Avatar to include curvilinear motion.
